We’ve upgraded our SMS service to include unplanned power outage notifications.
FAQs
-
How can I opt-out of receiving these outage notifications?
Please contact our customer service centre and they can assist you with this.
-
I have no power but haven't received an SMS?
There could be a few reasons for this, such as:
- We don't have a valid mobile number against your account.
- The outage may not be reported or confirmed by us at that point in time.
- We may have selected to turn off messages for that outage which we may need to do from time to time.
If you wish to find out further why you did not receive a notification message please contact the customer service centre on 130 137 008 and they will be able to follow this up for you. Alternatively you can send us an online enquiry.
-
What will the SMS say?
We are aware of an outage currently affecting your address at [STREET], [SUBURB]. Cause: [OUTAGE CAUSE]. For further updates please visit www.tasnetworks.com.au/outages
-
Can I receive outage notifications via email instead?
No, at this stage we do not have that functionality but hope to in the near future.
-
When will I receive unplanned outage notifications?
You will receive a notification once the outage has been confirmed and published to our website. Due to this there may be a short delay in receiving this message from when the power actually goes off.
We will only send these SMSs between the hours of 7am and 10pm.
-
Will I receive outage updates or a restoration SMS as well?
No, however the message has a link to our outages page on the website where you can get further updates or choose to ‘Follow the Outage’ if you would like to get further SMSs regarding updated estimated restoration times.
