Power outage update

TasNetworks is working hard to attend to a high volume of power outages after severe lightning crossed the state on Wednesday 12 March. We've reduced the number of lightning-affected customers to about 400, down from 30,000 on Wednesday 12 March. Customers impacted by an individual outage and have been provided with their job number can get an update by calling 132 004.

Progress is steady as we get to the most complicated and hard-to-access faults. We're uncovering more and worse damage than expected - especially transformers hit by lightning. There will unfortunately be some customers without power for a few days and we are working hard to directly contact customers by SMS. Please continue to check our outages page as we work through getting more detailed restoration times. We appreciate the patience and understanding of our customers.
